| 1 year | The risk of heart disease is half that of a smoker |
| 10 years | Lung cancer risk is half that of a current smoker. The risk of other cancers also decreases. The risk of stroke is equal to that of a non-smoker |
| 15 years | The risk of heart disease is equal to that of a non-smoker. |
Are there any smoking cessation services offered through the Wellness Warriors program at Wayne State?
Yes! As a Wellness Warrior participant, your first box of nicotine replacement therapy (gum, lozenge, or patch) is completely free! Each additional box is offered at the reduced price of only $13.50.

Schedule a meeting with one of our certified smoking cessation pharmacists. They will discuss the many aspects of quitting including the different types of products that can increase your chances of quitting for good!
